• Cost
• Timing
• Knowing your needs
• Location
• Taking trial run
• Enlisting an advocate 

I would agree with all of his points and add another – be sure to understand the entrance fee refundability clause, if you are considering a Continuing Care Retirement Community.  Ask if, when and how this fee would be refunded.
